Leelo Chevdo from Ribbons to Pastas

Ingredients:

  • 4 potatoes, grated
  • 4 tbsp chana dal
  • 2 tbsp cashews
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2-3 green chillies, chopped into big chunks
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt
  • Cooking oil
  • Wots Kenyan Chevdo Hot & Spicy

Steps:

  1. Soak the channa daal for 3-4 hours.
  2. Grate the potatoes.
  3. Wash 3-4 times.
  4. Drain and spread potatoes on a towel to air dry.
  5. Deep fry dry potatoes.
  6. Dissolve 1 tsp salt to water and pour mixture into the oil.
  7. Wash the daal and fry, then add to the potatoes. Add crushed Wots Kenyan Chevdo Hot & Spicy.
  8. Fry the cashews and raisins .

Tempering

  1. Heat oil.
  2. Place green chillies, curry leaves and sesame seeds on the pan.
  3. Add turmeric powder and ½ cup of water.
  4. Add sugar.
  5. Once the sugar dissolves and you get one thread consistency syrup, pour it onto the fried potatoes, daal, cashews and raisins.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Serve.
